Ballon D' Or 2013 Essay

1013 words - 5 pages

The golden ball is an award given every year to the best football player of the moment. It is defined depending on the quality in the footballers' technic, the statistics and results of a natural year. Every year, FIFA chooses 23 candidates to win the golden ball which are supposed to be the best ones of the whole planet. According to "FIFA" These will both be reduced to 3 players for each award, being announced at a later stage. From the final shortlists, journalists, national coaches and captains will vote for the winner of the FIFA Ballon d’Or. ("FIFA Ballon d'Or 2013," 2013)

After the votes are defined, FIFA summons the three finalists to the event of the golden ball, where the best footballers, teams, coaches and journalists assist to receive their major awards. This year, the 23 candidates were defined but the 3 favorite nominees are already chosen by everyone, the best 3 footballers in the planet. The all-nations voting period will be closed until the 29th of November, so every voter will have more time to decide who is the best player and who will win, in their opinion, the golden ball of 2013. The 23 nominees include important names like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Arjen Robben, Radamel Falcao, Andres Iniesta and other players, in their majority belonging to Bayern FC, but the 3 nominees that highlight in this edition are the argentine Lionel Messi, the french Frank Ribery and the portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.
Written by "FIFA" The winners of all of the awards will be revealed at the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala as part of a televised show at the Zurich Kongresshaus on 13 January 2014. ("FIFA Ballon d'Or 2013," 2013)

Conclusion
This text reviewed the concept of the Ballon d' Or and the situation of this one in this year 2013. 23 players, 23 nominees, 23 warriors, but only 3 titans. This players have showed during the entire year their arguments for being the best player of the whole planet. They've demonstrated their abilities, skills, goals and the magic they can generate with the ball. But now it's time to choose, Messi, Ribery or Ronaldo. They have their merits to win this major title but the results can help us to know who is the best.

In my opinion, Messi isn't part of this battle because he has demonstrated he is not in his maximum level by his injuries and disappearances in the game. This war is between two, Ribery and Ronaldo. Many people say that Ribery deserves the award better than Ronaldo because the French player won every title with Bayern and Cristiano didn't won any with Real Madrid, but the titles of Robery are truly of the team, not only of him, and the Ballon D' Or is an award for the best player, individually. Ronaldo beats in an incredible manner, all aspects of this individually progress, he deserves the award, he demonstrated by the things he has made alone...
