How could one dieny that the mass murder of six million jews never happened? These revisionist, or deniers, like to believe that it never did. Even with the witnesses, photos, buildings and other artifacts left behind, they still believe that the Holocaust is a hoax. The Holocaust deniers are wrong because there are people who have survived that wrote books, there is proof that Jews were being killed, and other evidence and artifacts have been found.
There are many books that have been written by either Holocaust survivors or those who died in the Holocaust and left their diaries behind. One very popular book would be Night by Elie Wiesel. Night tells the story of Elie’s life during the Holocaust. Elie was born in Sighet Transylvania and in 1944 he and his family were taken from their homes and put in concentration camps. The book tells everything that happened to Elie and his father in Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps. Another very popular book would be Anne Frank’s Tales from the Secret Annex. This story was written by Anne Frank in a diary that she kept with her while hiding from the Nazis in the “secret annex” when she was thirteen-years-old. Anne was killed during the Holocaust but her diary was found and published by a family member. Even though Anne did not survive, we still remember her through her diary. These people and stories that have survived through the Holocaust are the biggest piece of evidence that the Holocaust happened.
By the end of 1941 in Europe, the Nazis have extended the murder of the Jews across the whole continent under Nazi domination. According to the report written by Tal Bruttmann, “Mass Graves and Killing Sites in the Eastern Part of Europe”, they placed kill centers across Europe in important Jewish populations to try and destroy regional populations. The most well known killing centers were the poisonous gas chambers. These took place in Chelmno, Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka, and Auschwitz.. Other major killing centers were put next to major cities in the USSR territories such as Riga, Vilnius, Minsk, Brest, and Kiev. Some killing centers used other killing methods like shootings. Aktion Reinhardt was ended with with the mass shooting of the last 60,000 Jews of the General Government. Several thousand Jews were also shot to death at the end of the Krakow ghetto. But the killing centers was just one way to try and destroy the Jewish population. Many Jews died from being mistreated in labor camps, diseases, and from starvation. Others were killed on the spot from the units that were involved in the Holocaust. How ever the Jews were killed, the goal was still the same. They wanted to destroy the whole regional population of the Jews.(5)
There were many things that were left behind from the Holocaust. “The International School for Holocaust Studies” list many of the important objects that were found. One of which was a hollow toy duck. This toy was made by a prisoner nicknamed Kor...
