Title of the research: Consumer Perception, cosmetic industry, animal testing and welfare.
Research question: Do animal testing effect consumer perception for products in the cosmetic industry?
Aim of the research: The aim of this research is to know the consumer’s perception by conducting this literature review about the products available in the cosmetics industry which are animal tested.
Objectives of the research: The objectives of this research are:
- To explore the consumer mind and what are the factors affecting it
- Consumers awareness about animal welfare and animal rights
- Are consumers aware about the products they use on their skin
Purpose of the research: the purpose of this research was does it really effect consumers and concerned while buying products which are tested on animals knowing the fact that what is ethical consumption and the difference between animal welfare and animal rights and how testing on animals is a part of cruelty towards animals.
Significance of the research: The significance of this research is that; should animal rights be taken into consideration?
Should people bother about animals and have feelings towards them?
Text:
Whenever a consumer makes up his mind to consume\buy a service or a product, his decision contributes to his guide of consumption that he made. Very decision he makes has ethical, resource and waste and community significal effect. When consumers plan to choose a lifestyle they tend to be busy in a complicated process of making decisions (Young 2010).

Ethical way of consuming products
Behavior of purchasing ethically is known as “ethical consumerism” (Szmigin et al., 2009) those conscious consumers are called "ethical consumers”. Ethical consumers give way to ethical purchasing.
these\those consumers show values like environmental concern, social welfare and morality. They spend their money on those products which they feel are safe for the environment\environment friendly(Freestone & McGoldrick, 2007, p445).
The main aim of ethical consumerism is to reduce the environmental destruction and to bypass products that might have a negative impact on our environment or even the society(IGD, 2007).
Ethical consumerism includes concern for a variety of complicated issues like welfare for animals, human beings and as well as for the environment It has been discovered that sustaining\encouraging animal rights\welfare is recognized as a crucial\primary ethical recognition\consideration which is more important than environmental concerns and those relating to human rights in the field of toiletries which is a major\significant part of cosmetics (Wheale & Hinton, 2005).
